Social docsCompose a post
Compose a post
Compose is where a post starts: pick which accounts it goes to, write it once, then publish now or schedule it for later.

Choose where it posts
The Post toaccount cards at the top of Compose list every account you’ve connected. Select one or more — across as many platforms as you like — and the header updates to show how many you’ve picked, like “2 of 5 selected.” If you haven’t connected any accounts yet, connect one first in Channels before you can post.
Write once, tailor per platform
The Mastertab holds the text that goes out to every selected account by default. Click a platform’s tab to forkits copy — editing there breaks it off from the master text so you can tailor it without touching what the other platforms get. A small accent dot marks any tab you’ve forked. Reset to masterdiscards that platform’s edits and re-links it to the master text.
Each platform tab shows its own character counter. Going over a platform’s limit blocks posting for that platform, but it never blocks Save draft — you can save an over-limit draft and come back to trim it later.
| Platform | Character limit |
|---|---|
| X | 280 |
| Bluesky | 300 |
| Threads | 500 |
| 3,000 | |
| TikTok | 2,200 |
| 2,200 | |
| YouTube | 5,000 |
| 63,206 |
Add images and video
Use Add media or drag files onto the composer. Images can be jpg, png, webp, or gif; video can be mp4 or mov. Images are compressed automatically to keep them under roughly 1 MB, and video can be up to 50 MB. Add alt text to describe each image or video for people using screen readers.
Media you attach applies to allselected accounts — there’s no per-platform media tab the way there is for text. A single post can’t mix a video with images; it’s one or the other. Each platform then applies its own limit to what you’ve attached:
- X and Bluesky — up to 4 images, or 1 video.
- LinkedIn — up to 9 images, or 1 video.
- Facebook — up to 10 images; no video.
- Instagram — 1 image, or 1 video.
- Threads — 1 image; no video.
- TikTok and YouTube — video only.
YouTube is stricter still: the video must be vertical or square and under three minutes to publish as a Short.
Posting media to X requires media access on that connection. If Kadro Social asks you to reconnect X before it’ll attach a file, go to Channels and reconnect, granting media access when X prompts you.
Post a link as a reply (X)
When an X account is among your selected accounts, a toggle for Add link in a replyappears. Turning it on moves a URL out of the tweet itself and posts it as the first reply instead, which protects the tweet’s reach. You can tune the reply’s text, how soon it’s allowed to post, a minimum like count the tweet should reach first, and the longest it should wait before posting the reply regardless. Save as defaultremembers that timing so you don’t have to set it again next time.
TikTok options
TikTok isn’t live in Kadro Social yet — once it is, and a TikTok account is among your selected accounts, Compose will add options for who can view the video and the disclosures TikTok requires (like marking content as branded or AI-generated) before you can post it.
